NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENT: Formula totals for last week are somewhat smaller in Texas,
and smaller in Kansas and Nebraska: KS 84,447(-4,897), NE 58,876(-7,571),
TX 86,818(-221). Total trade volume was also lower in Kansas and Nebraska
and somewhat lower in Texas: KS 93,376(-4,756), NE 84,103(-4,386), TX
91,837(-687). New showlists appear to be mixed, higher in Nebraska/Colorado,
somewhat higher in Texas, but lower in Kansas. Bids and asking prices have
yet to be established.
Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (Choice 301.40 -1.93, Select 281.62
+1.19), with light box movement (22.47 lds of choice cuts, 12.03 lds of
select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 1.85 lds of ground). Cattle futures at
the top of the noon hour are mixed, mostly lower on live contracts, and
moderately to sharply lower on feeder issues.
